Compared to the internationally grown & flown flowers that dominate the floral market, local flowers are superior in their freshness, longevity, and beauty. Like all farm to table offerings, they are treated with the utmost care and consideration which means farmers avoid using unnecessary chemicals and pesticides all the way from growing to harvesting, and blooms are cut and delivered to designers without the excess carbon footprint.
My personal favourite advantage with any local flower offering is the ability for us to learn about and appreciate what the land around us is able to naturally grow. The concept of 'seasonality' has been confused through the importing of everything from flowers to food, disconnecting us from what living with the seasons truly means.
These monthly Local Love Bouquets won't just brighten up the spaces they're placed in, they'll give you insight into which flowers are actually in season here versus abroad! Bouquets can either be picked up in the studio June 5th, July 3rd, and August 7th or delivered within city limits for an additional $50 fee on June 6th, July 4th, and August 8th.
